I just copied and pasted this from that sites front page:

>> Jsgongwon, one of our forum members, reported that his newly bought Xbox 360 keeps crashing while playing Project Gotham Racing 3 in single player mode.
He's playing with the default settings, and apparently his Xbox crashes even before the end of the first lap. Crashes on Xbox Live and on startup occur too. He included screenshots of the crashed Xbox 360 (see below - more pictures on flickr.com) and a video of the crash here(9MB) (mirror: here(2MB XviD))
A quick look on our forums (more, more and more) seems to indicate he's not the only one. Several of our members seems to get crashing 360s. It doesn't seem to be related to a specific game, as we get reports of the Xbox 360 crashing with several games. And it's not all the same Error-number either (E79, E74, E64, real crashes, ...).
I quickly checked over at TeamXbox and they also have a large thread and poll about defective Xbox 360s.
It's a bit early to guess what's exactly going on here (software, hardware, heat problem, 'user errors', ...) or how big the issue really is. We'll report back when we have more. If you have issues with your Xbox 360 too, report it!

Just goes to show: Never buy the new model without letting other people work out the bugs first

My sister bought both an '86 Ford Taurus and a '90's-something Jeep Grand Cherokee. Both were the first model year, and early ones at that. Nothing but problems.

She has finally come to realize you don't buy the FIRST of anything!

Look at Windows 95, 98, ME, 2000, 2003, XP - how many service packs does it take to get it right?

XBOX's crashing doesn't surprise me. Microsoft for sure can NEVER get the first ones right... what a business model.

Yep, it's a Micro$oft product. They're supposed to crash.

Xbox

Prob gonna get flamed for this, but I can't fathom why anyone would want to give MORE of their money to Bill Gates. What is it with this "latest & greatest" thing anyway?????

Just a Xbox 360 story. One of my guys form work went to a presale at Wal-mart last night at midnight. He got there at 9:30 and no line. He wondered why not. He went to the electronics desk and was told because of the near riot in the store, that they stated it will be availible at 7 am. He was a bit sceptical and stayed to 11 pm. As the store closed they posted a sign on the front door stating just what he was told.

So at 7 am this morning the line was long and they all rushed to the electronics section and NO XBOX! Everone asked where they were and were all told that they were sold out. Sold out the store just opened. Then he said the near riot scene appeared again. As they were leaving cussing and fussing about it the retired greeter said do you know why there are sold out? It is because all the employees baught them before the store opened.

As you can imagine the people were very teemed about that.

Can anyone tell me how Christmas has been destroyed by retailers? These must have gifts cause so much anger.

As for my employee who went there He just wanted one to sell it on ebay for $3000+

Question/Interrogative...

Do they come with a pre-formatted BOOT DISC or RESCUE DISC?

I never have liked console games. The entire XBOX platform is designed to be a bigger and better NINTENDO, with PC features, and upgradeable if and only if proprietary software and hardware is incorporated later on. They are also intended to give PC level functionality on a nintendo budget...

MY philosophy on it is to save your cash and get a real computer! You'll still be playing new games on it six years from now - when XBOX version whatever replaces what you spent all your cash on.

I've heard they're going on EBAY for up to $1,600.oo.

So much for affordability...

For that much, I can buy a used car or truck and have a LOT more fun.

Not entirely true, the xbox can be modded to play all sorts of "aftermarket" software, and run other hardware
