Yes, I searched and no one addressed the solution......just a lot of talk about if a truck actually had them or other types to replace the entire mirror. My truck has them, the type that is mounted in the mirror cover, not behind the glass.

My left signal on the mirror is out. How does one go about accessing the bulb? Any special tools? What is the bulb type and number?

You have to remove the mirror cover to access the bulb. I believe it just uses a #194 bulb but I'm not positive.
To remove the cover you move the mirror glass to access the clips that hold the cover on. There are 2 clips above the glass and one at each end. You gently pry the clips away and the cover pops off. The cover can break pretty easily though so be careful.

Hi Pete,

I got your message from the thread you viewed of mine.

To access the bulb in your side directional mirror, there are about five tabs you have to push down with a skinny long flat head screw driver in order for the back to pop off.

Using a flashlight so you can see adjust your mirror all the way to the down position and wedge the flat head screw driver between the mirror and the housing, you'll see two tabs in the back...push those down so the top comes loose. Then adjust the mirror inwards towards the cabin and you'll see another tab.......push that tab out as well.........then adjust the mirror up and you'll see another two at the bottom. The back will pop off and you'll be able to change the bulb.

Bulb # is .... 921
Once you do it you'll see it's actually simple.

Let me know how you make out.
