does anybody know if its possible to disconnect the highly annoying seat belt warning noise? And before everyone starts telling me to just go ahead and put the seat belt on, I appreciate the concern for my safety, but I make alot of frequent stops around town and this noise is beginning to drive me crazy!! I wear my seat belt just about everywhere, but its not practical all the time.

It seems like it is louder than other Ford trucks, a little to loud for my ears. Also, when there is a passenger in the car, and they wait for you to run into the store, it continues to go off and they are subjected to listening to it until you return.

Any information is appreciated.

 

I would like to shut my belt minder off also. I know the manual tells ya how to do it but I just got my truck on 11/15 and haven't had time to read the book yet. I know on the super duty I had to turn the key on and off a few times while conecting and disconecting the buckle in the right order.

 

Its the same was as in the super duty i dont remember the sequence exactly but you have to be in the seat with the ignition off and turn it on and off and buckle and unbuckle it a bunch of times and turn your key to the run position

 

i did everything,the manuel said to do 3 times and it still want shut off. im thinking about finding a recked truck at junk yard,cutting seatbelt lock off and sticking it in mine,so it thinks i have it on.

 

Deactivation is in the manual. I have an 05 FX4 and a buddy has a Lariat and we did ours on the same day, both worked first time. You need to actually sit in the seat you are deactivating.

 

The instructions for doing so is in your users manual

 

I cannot find the procedure to shut off my seatbelt alarm in my owners manual. Could someone please post them here.

There are 2 ways you can disable the beltminder. 1.for a 1 time disable if the driver/passenger quickly buckles then unbuckles the beltminder is disabled for that ignition cycle on. there is no confirmation given for 1 time disable and you will have to do this each time ignition is turned on/off or when the belt remains buckled for more than 30 seconds. The 2nd way is permanent unless you activate it yourself. before the procedure make sure parking brake is set, gearshift in park,ignition off,all seatbelts unbukled.
1. Turn ignition RUN or on but donot start
2. Wait until safetybelt warning turns off
3. Must be completed within 50 secs after light turning off.
Buckle thenunbuckle 9 times ending in the unbuckled postion
4. after step 3 the airbag light will turnon for 3 secs
5. Within 10 secs of light turning on buckle then unbuckle the belt.
This should disable the belt minder and The Airbag light should flash 4 times per sec for 3 secs.
Hope this works for you. The driver and passenger seat are indepedent of eachother so to disable passenger repeat same procedure w/that buckle.Good luck
