Best headlamp bulb brand?

Best headlamp bulb brand?
I just did the 9005 foglamp conversion on my 05 SD. I went to NAPA to get the new bulbs and they don't carry Sylvania bulbs (the best, from what I've been told). I ended up getting the NAPA brand (Federal Mogul - it says they were made in Germany). Are these ok? All 9005s are the same (65W), right? The 9145s I took out were GE, even though the foglight assembly itself says "Sylvania Valeo" on it. Does Ford use various bulb manufacturers? How much real difference is there between bulb manufacturers.
I also installed a BriteBox with FLC about 6 months ago. It recommends Sylvania bulbs because they apparently last the longest. I would imagine that a BriteBox will reduce the lifespan of a bulb. The Sylvania website says that the lifespan of the H13 (9008) bulb is 1500 hours for the low beam and 200 hours for the high beam. Does anyone have any experience with how much, if any, the BriteBox reduces the lifespan of the headlamp bulbs? Thanks guys.

To answer your subject line, go with Silvania Silverstars, model 9007. Wally World has them for about $35. For my fogs I use the same thing, different number though, 9005.
Search the forums for the mod to enable fogs with highs, easy mod.
For the 9007 I went with Summit Racing's heavy duty harness. Cost summin like 40 bucks. It increased the lights about 20% over the factory harness. It also allows you to do the britebox mod (that you already did) for ten cents instead of $100.

Sylvania makes a Xenarc HID for the F 150 series. Dunno' if they'll fit the 250 & 350.
You're talking $400 or more with only a slight increase in lumens. The color temp is 4100-5400. The higher the temp, the bluer the light.
The Silverstar is the whitest and brightest light, if that's what you are looking for, plus it clips right in with no mods.
If you feel like spending the bucks for a blue light, with possible modifications, see it here:

Look at their comparison chart, you'll see the Silverstar is brighter.

Steve,
You talk about using the 9007 bulbs. By this, do you mean changing out the harness and plug? I have the 9008 bulb in my truck. I looked on the Sylvania website and the base type for the 9007 is PX29t and for the 9008 is P26.4t, so they probably won't fit. Is this why a new wiring harness is required, in addition to using a lower gauge wire?
Also, the model BriteBox I got has the fog lamp controller that allows the fog lamps to stay on with the high beams. Right now when I have my high beams on, I have 370W of total lighting, rather than the stock 130W. It works very well.

Gotcha. Thanks.
I think I am happy with the light output of my rig with the setup I have. I was just wondering if one brand of bulb was better than another in regard to lifespan and if bulbs of the same type had the same power consumption, regardless of if they had different outputs (lumens) and temperatures. I appreciate the help.

I have the HIDs installed on my Truck. It cost me $300 from http://www.blinglights.com and its the newest designe. They give you two ballst and starter (built into one unit unlike the older ones where you had two separte boxes) and two bulbs and all the wires. Install is simple except for the fact that on my 2005, inorder to replace any headl light bulbs, I had to remove the headlight itself. Besides that, it looks awesome an it outperforms any other halogen. You can go with the Sylvania HID kits but they are for your fog lights. The only reason why do this is because they dont want to blind the ***** out of oncoming traffic/ someone infront of you. I chose to go with the headlights since I think it looks funny when the fogs are brighter than the headlights. Good luck
