Finally we can end the idle gossip
OK guys I got the real poop.
Ford's strategy is to not release the name of the manufacturer of the new SuperDuty diesel engines for '07MY even after the 6.4L is introduced.
Instead of a manufacturer's name tag or data plate on the engines, each truck will have a satelite link and a blank (for now) liquid crystal display allowing Ford to assign credit/blame according to a secret formula being worked out by a committe co-chaired by the heads of their legal and marketing departments.
An added benefit to the satelite arangement is that it allows for Ford to reflash your truck from space! You wonder how it is they can rush the '07s to market so quickly? The idea is that they are replacing their R&D personnel mostly with computer geeks and whenever some programmer believes he can reduce power, decrease fuel economy or increase noise, he can find out immediately fleet wide without even getting up from his desk. This will save the time and expense normally associated with testing before release.
OK, OK I will engage in some idle speculation: I heard, but have not substantiated, that Predator as well as many of the after market tuner company's will be adding truck sized and shaped tin-foil hats to their product lines.
