Unhappy '05 Escape 'Smart Junction Box'

Can anyone tell me where to find the 'Smart Junction Box' on an '05 Escape?
Apparently, it has something to do with the fact that I can't get my 'after market' installed OEM fog lights to work. Any help would be appreciated.

You posted a question about this in another thread.

You call them OEM and After Market. Sorry, but I'm a little confused. Guess you did not get them from a Ford dealer, right?

Cool

I bought the lights from a parts seller on E-Bay. They are acutally OEM parts but the instllation was done 'after market. The problem I'm having is that the lights and switch are connected to the factory installed harnesses, but the fog light relay won't 'trip' in order for them to work.

Bootlegged from somewhere else...

The Smart Junction Box (SJB) is the combination of the fuse box and the GEM module into one unit. If you locate your fuses inside the passager footwell area you have found the SJB. In 2005 you will also notice that there is no external flasher unit or, for the people in Canada, no DRL module. This is because these functions are now contained in the SJB. The dealer must program the GEM to activate the lights. I think you will find that you can turn them on without turning the headlamps on. The parklamps still need to be activated but not the headlights.
