Glow plug wire

Glow plug wire
Truck was starting hard since the cooler weather, so I started checking the glow plugs. Found the insulation burned off from the plastic do-dad that pushes on the plug all the way to where the splice is, only on one plug. Replaced the wire and the plug. The plastic(?) inside the plug was melted. The rest of the wires looked good. Seems to be working now. Do I have bigger issues? Thanks, Chris

It was one on the drivers side. Checked all but the one under the turbo. I need much smaller hands to get to that one . Looks like they are newer, I pulled the plugs on the drivers side. I've only owned the truck for a year and use it mostly for pulling our race trailer in the warm months.

I have a set of bent nose needle nose pliers, a piece of fuel line and an open end wrench to change that one under the turbo.
Pull the wire off with the pliers.
Loosen the glow plug with the wrench.
Screw it out with the fuel line.
Lift it out with the pliers.
Set the new one in with the pliers.
Screw it in with the fuel line.
Tighten it with the wrench.
Plug the wire back on with the pliers.
Done
Only wish it was really that easy.
