Lost overdrive on '02 F150 4.6L 4x4
I was driving along today and noticed at 40mph, when the tranny normally shifts into overdrive, it was as if I had shifted into neutral- no power to the wheels. If I turn off the overdrive (via switch on shift lever), everything seems normal.
Can anybody shed any light as to what this might be? I've left it for the dealer for tomorrow but until then, I'd like to get an idea how much I'm looking at to get it fixed.
I'm hoping it's not the entire tranny (as I had to do on my Ranger when the overdrive started malfunctioning), I can't afford that right now
Thanks in advance.

It just happened all of the sudden, although I swear it's been slipping slightly since almost new.
I got the bad news today, it's the overdrive servo. Apparently the tranny needs to be dropped for the repair and it'll be only a few hundred $$$ more for an entire rebuilt tranny. I am NOT happy with this. The truck only has 90,000km (~56,000 miles) on it and is less than 4 years old.
This is my second Ford truck and my second failed tranny. I am not a big Ford fan right now. I called Ford Customer Assistance and they can't do anything for me,
