'99 7.3 power loss and low oil pressure
On start up (warm or cold) it takes a little longer for the starter to fire the engine. The idle is smooth, but when I put in gear there is a major loss of power and the transmission shifting is jerky. I have already had the CPS changed about 3 months ago. And just had the exhaust back pressure sensor changed. I was able to limp it to my mechanic while this was happening and he read a low oil pressure (around 500 to 600 psi). Turning engine off and on usually clears the problem, but the problem returns now and then. Any ideas?

I was curious if it had a chip. Sometimes aftermarket programming can call for more oil than the pump can deliver.
