Yes, you still use that big socket to remove the nut and bearings. Boy do those rotors wear out easy. I have never had one that could be resurfaced either. When you buy the new rotor there is a tone ring on the backside of it. You can pry it off and install it on the new rotor. It saves you a few dollars buying just the rotor with no tone ring. If the ring worked before, it will work again. It is only a ring with so many teeth on it around 52. The sensor on the axel reads the frequency that the wheel goes around. As long as that was not damaged the tone ring should work on any rotor it is mounted to. I had no trouble with mine, good luck to you
