Excursion wiring diagrams
I have a 03 Eddie Bauer PSD and I’m looking for wiring diagrams on-line. Specifically for the lighting systems. I bought a set of OEM telescoping, heated mirrors with turn signal and running lights and the running lights do not work. Appears that 03 may not have supported this but I see other rigs with the same mirrors and the running lights working….

ALLDATA has wiring diagrams, including color codes and how to locate individual components- both electrical and mechanical. I think it ran me about $25 for a years online access. Of course you can download or print all the diagrams so you really don't need to re-subscribe. Additional cars cost less after the first one. . .
Good Luck.
Good Luck.

MUELHEIM, Another option for F-250, F-350, and Excursions is the Haynes manual
#36060. It has quite a few wiring diagrams in chapter 12. Not a bad idea to have
one of these rapair manuals around. I like ALLDATA better because it covers a lot of areas that books don't, but having the basics in print form is a good 2nd choice.
Hope all goes well with those mirrors.

Excursion mirror lights and wiring diagrams
Thanks for the replies on wiring diagrams. My 03 Excursion was not wired in the doors for the running light portion of the OEM swing way mirrors I installed. Turn signal is present on the connector but not running lights. I had to run a new wire from the connector to the back of the headlight switch out to the connector behind the door panel. I figured out that the power for the running lights comes directly from the headlight switch and that no relay is involved.

I love the bigger mirrors for towing and now have all the lights working on the mirror housing.<O></O>

I am attempting to install Telescoping Mirrors on my 02 Excursion
I have a 2002 Ford Excursion Limited with standard side paddle style mirrors that have heat and the turn signal arrow incorporated into the mirror glass. I want to install telescoping mirrors. My local Ford dealership said they could get me OEM and/or Aftermarket telescoping mirrors with heat but not with the turn signal in the glass. Thats fine, since I can live without the turn signal arrow. However, when the OEM mirrors arrived they had a different connection plug than what my current mirrors use. The dealer said they won't work because Ford doesn't have an adaptor to convert the plugs. The issue is apparently my truck is wired for the incorporated turn signal in the glass and the new mirros dont have the same plug configuration, thereby leaving an open circuit.
I really dont want to install a pair of non power, non-heated style mirrors. In fact now I dont know if non-power will work as they too will leave an open circuit.
I didn't think I was the first person to run into this problem, because truck guys are always upgrading and modifying their trucks. I also find it hard to beleive that the Ford engineers didn't see this one coming. I am sure there has to be way around this without having to rewire the truck.
I saw your post from 2005 when you did yours. Do you recall if the a telescoping mirror you bought came pre wired or had an adapter plug that connected the telescoping tow mirrors? i saw that you had to run a seperate wire to get the running light to work. How difficult was it for you to do this? Shoot me an e-mail at JSWright@comcast.net if you can help.
