No matter what way I shift it, theres a delay.I dont touch the gas while I'm shifting into reverse. I dont feel it engage into reverse until my foot is off the brake for a second or two. I dont think this is normal. My dad has a dodge (I know, we pitty him.....) and his engages right away.

I wouldn't have noticed anything like that. I was taught to stop in neutral for a second when shifting an automatic transmission from drive to reverse. The old timers told me that shifting quickly from drive to reverse (or visa versa) is very bad for the transmission.

With today's intelligent transmissions, Ford might have built in a delay to protect the transmission. It might be an equipment safety feature instead of a "problem".
