Chrome instrument cluster trim

Anyone refurbished the chrome looking trim on the instrument clusters on the 73 - 79 trucks? Mine's a little drab looking and I'd like to perk it up. I've seen that thin tape that looks like chrome but it doesn't look real enough for me.

Any ideas?

Hi Dwayne -

The best I can tell you is to either by new replacements or sand and paint the trim a different color. I've seen that chrome tape, and it does look cheap.

Sorry, there's no cheap fix that I know of.

Thanks, I wondered if anyone had used that chrome paint. It has the potential of working pretty good.

You are right though, probably a new part or a swap from a better vehicle is best.
