Well, I'm not very happy about My 2005 4X4 Crewcab 6.0. I drove my truck without my camper and quads up the same mountains and the difference in "fuel" mileage was only about 3.4 gallons MPG. Thinking about all the threads that I have read. I guess Power has been the focus of Manufacturers instead of both power and mileage. Can't I get BOTH????? (without installing a tuner). My '96 and '98 Dodge got 10.2 mpg towing and 19 mpg highway. Both were 4X4 2500's. Are the NEW engines coming out going to provide both? I'm ready

emmissions/hp is the first problem mileage is last.....all though i did read somewhere that the US is going to require a 20mpg highway for all vehicles but i don't remember the year.

i am not sure why ford would stage it, and not just go straight to the 6.7 and start working from there with more emmisions compliant material following at a later version of the same motor.

I'm willing to bet that the technology needed for that is still in developement, it was said right in that interview with the International CEO.

duracrap? excuse me.... like somehow every 6 liter person has something to brag about?

don't even get me started.

Cat would make an awesome engine until Ford starts in screwing with things, like they did the IH motor.......(though that is purely speculation on my part)

I saw that video - it ran well Gene.

And it would appreciated if there was no brand bashing...

yeah dodges are firmly in the 9s and 10s for street trucks and the 2 fastest diesel dragsters are done to like 6 7 8 somewhere in there as for the duracrap remark the 6.0 is not perfect and i do not own one so i think i can say that when all i ever change is an o ring now and then or a glow plug at 155000 while its not long before chevy is replacing the injectors or melted heads well i guess at that point its a whole new engine

I know a guy who has an 01 with the 24 valve cummins and his runs high 12's in the quarter. I mean we're talkin about a 3/4 ton cab and a half truck here. That might not seem like a lot, but for a big truck with a heavy engine, thats crankin.

Curious - do you have any evidence of this occuring? (particulary the "melted heads")

http://www.turbodieselregister.com/forums/showthread.php?t=141123&highlight=duramax+heads also ive heard of others w/ melted heads and some bent rods injectors has been common around here and there are threads in the same site about it too its mostly dodge guys w/ some fords and chevys and most have freinds that have had problems maybe to far thro the grape vine for some but i think they are true since there was no reason to lie

one last thing in testing the dmax chevy melted the first truck down cause of pulling to hard

also in this site are the dodge boys in the nines and i will add tens to that too since its a little more common but ill let ya'll look over the site and find them
