That and having the hose chafe on a frame rail or something could pose problems. I'd stick with solid line in the appropriate places.

edit: I re-read your post and I see you said from your pump to your carb. I'm not positive of the routing so you might want to wait for a few more posts before making a decision.

Fuel Line
You can use the rubber fuel line. I'd go with the braided fuel line though to help keep the vaporization down before it reaches the carb. I have this on my motor and have yet to have a problem with it.
