Summer fuel in 97 now won't start....

So, what the hell do I do now? I took the filler spout off my tanks and can see the gel in there. I bought some diesel additive that claims to keep diesel thawed and bla bla bla, but even after running a heater under the truck all tarped in for 2 hours I couldn't get things warm enough to flow. I can't even get the filter to drain.
I have a fuel filter light come on and a water in fuel light, but like I said the filter pot won't drain. I suppose if the fuel pumps are stiffened up then no fuel is making it to the engine huh?
If I can get this thing into a warm garage overnight and get it running, short of running it all day until the fuel is gone, how do I deal with the summer fuel?

I hate not knowing how to deal with things.........

Once it's ungelled the additive that you already added should keep it from regelling. Power Service has a product called diesel 911 that's only purpose is to get a gelled truck up and running. It's normally on the shelf at Wal-Mart along witht he rest of the diesel fuel suppliments.

Pour some anti-gel straight into the filter bowl to help get it running. Once it's running the engine heat will clear whatever residual gelled fuel remains.

Thanks for the advice. Walmart, only a 4 hour drive, I better check Napa. I see you told another fella that this forum can walk a guy through any problem. Well after I get into this truck a bit more you may want to recant your offer! I may bombard you with enough goofy questions that you'll ask me to take a time out!!

Offer still stands.

I've used the anti gel stuff from Howes the NAPA carries. Works pretty well too, just not very fast. You might have to dump it in the tank and the filter bowl and leave it for several hours.
