A V10 Nightmare

I think all the preparations are made for our upcoming trip and then I started thinking did I make the right decision going with the V10 , will my KN filter let in a microscopic piece of dirt and cause all my plugs to blow out and leave 10 holes in my hood , will my V10 wimp out and refuse to pull my 15K fiver or maybe all my Firestone tires will all blow out and leave me stranded on as wet road without 4X4, will I get stopped for holding up traffic because I am over my GCVW and all my Mobil 1 flashed over and leaked out Wake up dummy your dreaming.

I can't take it I have to go out to the garage and check on the truck, it's not there , Wake up your having a nightmare you old fool. All joking aside its in the drive hooked up and ready to go.

This trip will be a walk in the park its the first time in 5 years that we haven't taken it up in the mountains up the steepest grade and highest pass we could find.

In just a couple of hours we will be on our way to see Mickey and my Family in Florida. The V10 work horse sits there ready and willing for our next adventure. no boat this time so it's 10 burning and 10 tuning ( a perfect 10), BSEG big time.
If any of my FTE friends see me on the road give me one of these and I will give you a . If my better half is driving I will be the grey haired one in the passenger seat watching the back of my eyelids

Denny

If I find a good Wi-Fi hot spot I will check in

Denny, may your trip bring you good times and relaxation and I hope you get online while you are gone so you can offer sympathy to us up here freezing our asses off while you sit in the shade sipping something tall and cool. Take care and have a safe trip, Don.

Hope you can find some access tonight or early in the AM before you hit the road again.

There's a front moving down and bringing North winds with it. So, IF you can hang out for a little while in MO, AR or wherever you're at tonight, you might be able to catch a tail-wind for the rest of your trip. As it is now, driving into this 40mph South wind is going to be expensive.

Be safe!

Thread hijack!

I would love to see a real V10 owner up in the very Northern tier buy 4 quarts of oil.

One MC 5W20 $1.79
One M1 5W20 $3.89
One RP 5W20 $4.19
One GTX 5W20 $2.70

glue, strap, or tape all four bottles to a 2X4
Let set all night at -30F -40F or -50F.... who cares just so it is MINUS
video tape all four...... pouring.

We did that 25 years ago at a freight company I used to drive for. Put 4 oils in jars at around -40. 5/30, 10/30, 30 and 40 weight. The 5/30 still poured but was like 90 weight gear oil. The 10/30 was like syrup and the 30 and 40 weight were more or less solid. If I think of it this winter I'll do a short clip for you guys.

that makes me remember 1978 driving though the mid west in a semi that we could not shot off or even get heat out of. air temp out side with the wind chill was minus 60degs.
the inside of the truck was so cold we drove in 20 min shifts so we could warm up under a electric blanket inside a sleeping bag. just to feel out feet again
straight kero could have gelled up that trip. we had a bad mix of 10 gals of gas into a 150 tank that helped but don't shut er off every one said. came home to nj the long way down to deago and across on 10 to the east side and up 95. dame was that cold.
here in north west nj i have seen minus 20 degs deisels forget it they would not start but our gassers did.

To carry this back off of topic, I go hunting, then ice fishing in minnesota a couple times a year. Even at -40, my truck ran great. It didn't seam to be affected by the weather. Have a great trip RV!!
