I was wondering if this swap is as easy as in the 1992-1996 models? the truck is a 1990 f150 lariat 4x4 single cab short box with inline 6. Any info would be awesome!
Thanks for the reply, but what do you mean by the odometers won't match? I would be getting a whole instrument cluster from the same era truck. I just wasn't sure if the swap was as easy as in the newer trucks which i have done.
i mean the cluster you put in won't show the same mileage as the one you pull out. so the truck won't show its actual mileage. some states care about this, some don't. here in CA, they don't really care if the vehicle is more than 10 years old, so i just slapped it in and went.
that i know of, no. you'd have to get inside the cluster to do it, and i've been told that the odometer is intentionally very easy to break to prevent roll-back. of course, that last part could just be an old wives' tale.
