Thumbs up First Snow

coming home from the flames game last night we had about 2-3 inches of heavy wet snow. drove home on the highway and must say the truck (97 f150) performed great! Only had the truck for a month so wasnt sure. cars in the ditch all over and a few chevy pickups as well lol but I gotr through just fine. Wondering how it would have been with four wheel drive on. Im sure this thing will climb trees! Just thought id pass this along

Sweet!!!! Nothing but all A+'s form mine in the snow(97 f150 4x4). You can use 4 wheel drive high, even shift on the fly as long as speed is under 50mph(which usually is with bad road conditions) on the highway, just to let ya know> carefull for the ice though. They havent built anytihng to over come that yet(thats at least street legal).lol

Oh I get such terrible chills when I hear about snow!
The part I remember so well after the Hockey games in Alaska, was waiting for the Warm Air to show up after we made it to the ol' 78 F-150 4X4.

We've just had our first couple of dumps here also.....and along with the first snows comes the seasonal rash of folks biting the ditch.

I'm a snow boarder so the snow can't come fast enough now!

In Anchorage, that first Snow seemed to fall on Sunday night. The Plow guys dont work then, so on Monday morning, it wasn't unusual for the Cops to handle more than a Hundred fender benders.
On the first Monday Snowfall, the number of cars in the ditch, the median and way out in the brush was something for the Guiness book.
Seeing those long skid marks in the snow, that lead up to a bent over Road sign or a Power pole, should serve as a reminder....but the kind of folks that need those reminders, are impervious to the signs.
There was a Jeep on it's top, my buddy says "oh yeah, those 4X4's will go anywhere!"
I always had good luck with my F-150/4X4's. I locked the hubs in the fall, and unlocked them in late April or May. I had three of them over nearly 30 years and only had to replace one U-Joint.
Oh how I wish I'd never sold that 78.

Great!!, heading to cowtown tomorrow, better pick up a couple sandbags before I leave. Never had any problems with the snow in my truck, ussualy make 2 or 3 trips over the Rocks every winter. Always carry a set of tow ropes and a 5000lb come-along just in case.

I wish we had snow here. I love snow. I'm probably the only guy in the state of Indiana who will be wearing a t-shirt and shorts if we get a lot of snow.
