Do 1989 F-150 4x4 come stock sitting up so tall? I mean I am 6'4" and it is still a bit a leap for me to get out. I mean does it have a lift kit and I don't know it? I just got it? How would you tell if one does?
I have the same truck, and it's not that bad for me - I'm 5'7". You may have a lift - are there any blocks under the rear axle? Are there drop brackets at the end of the TTB axles or do they go right into the engine crossmember?
From the ground to the crome flare on the side, it is 3'2" in the back, and the front it 2'9".
When I stand next to it, I can't see the center .
Sounds about right. I am 6'3" and I cant see the center of the roof neither on my 1992 F150 4x4 with 235/75 x 15 (28 1/2 inch tall) factory tires.
But this is the appeal of these 4x4s--you sit high and see over traffic ahead and when you change the oil--you dont have to jack the vehicle up!!
Wish my son's Civic could have it's oil changed without driving it on ramps.
I live in the Denver area and 4x2 pickups are almost nonexistant here. But when I do see a 4x2 pickup--they are so much lower than the factory 4x4 pickup of the same year and rating. There is a very big difference in factory height of the 4x2 and 4x4 pickups.

I have a 1990 and it can fit 33's on it with no lift at all. My dad has a 1988 2wd and my trucks roof is about 3-4 inches taller than his. I also know someone else that had the same bodystyle of truck in 4x4 and he said that was the stock height on them from the dealer.
