No response? Propane has not proven to Banks that it can be made 110 safe. Worries of leaks under hoods and explosions or the feeling that you are running in all through the system and compressing it in turbo. Its hard on the lower end lessening the engine life a little. Methanol will allow the truck to get away from you. Thats the ol school way of putting sugar in the tank.

2002 Ford Focus SE. I get 25-32 MPG...can your SuperDuty get that?

Well yes, yes it can.
Supplemented with free WVO I now get over 50 MPG

No, I can not get 25-32 MPG, but your Focus will look real sad with 6000 pounds of rock in the trunk. My heavy duty can do that at 12+ MPG.

As far as water injection it is used more to lower the temp of your charge air from what I have read. It needs to be injected at rather high PSI through a nozzle that mists it rather fine. Then the evaporation cools the air around the water droplet.
I also read the methyl alcohol does create some extra boost out of the turbo when mixed with the water injection at 50/50 mix.
I will try to find the info I read.

Look for water injection, it is in several places.
I had a different one, but I can not find it right now.

Found it.

I've had the DPS system for a couple of years and it works well. It's mostly a gee whiz thing, and is a good kick in the backside when you are playing....but it doesn't serve any practical purpose on a working truck. It's just for fun.

im running the stage 2 from snow performance and well although you could feel it kick in, I was under the impression that it would be more like NOZ which really really kicks in. I use my windshield washer tank as my methanol tank and it only lasts me about a day 1/2 whether I use it up or not. If I dont use it it evaporates. It works well with my chip and it just makes a good running chipped 6.0 feel that much torqier, but I was more looking for something like in the movies where you push a button and you just get thrown back in the seat you know like gone in 60 seconds.... hahahaha

Cmon man, OVER 50? Not calling you a liar but I am hard pressed to believe it. A Toyota Prius, yes; a F250, doubtful. WVO or not. But a Focus or Prius can't haul my 16' trailer!

did you click on the link? by using mostly WVO and some diesel, the price came out to 5 cents of paid diesel fuel per mile. he ran like 1100 some miles on about 22 gallons of diesel fuel.

No I didn't download the link, my firewall won't allow it.

But after reading your post, Strokin_it, I get what the point is. I didn't catch the semantics, I fell for the dubious use for the common term "MPG"

When you explained that he used 22gal of of Diesel fuel to cover 1100 miles, I see what he is saying. The rest of the time WVO was used to power the engine.

But IMHO, with all due respect, using deceptive language to claim outragious MPG numbers will only hurt the Biodiesel/WVO community in the long run. There are, as we all know, a lot of "hocus pocus" items out in the marketplace that claim improved MPG which are modern-day snake oil. I would hate to see Biodiesel/WVO get lumped into the same category and dismissed as a result of misleading claims

I feel like the "over 50 mpg" claim is deceptive because it can easily be taken as a claim of achieving 50 miles driven per gallon of fuel used, which it is certainly not. That is how i took it at first, unitl Strokin_it explained it further.

joeblow69's valid claim is that he can achieve 50 MPGOPF (Miles Per Gallon Of Purchased Fuel) That is a great thing and my hat is off to him.

I am not trying to start an arguement, no offense intended. Just expressing my opinion.

Yes, I guess without the spreadsheet it is a hard number to believe, but I did say supplemented. On many of the other forums I spend time on, that is the way we refer to our mileage. But, I like the MPGOPF idea. More clear, no confusion.

I put this spreadsheet together so I could determine when I break even. I'm about 1/10 of the way there.
