Question 57-60 Dash Insert

Have any of you guys installed a new dash insert on a 57-60? I am looking for something that will accept some modern gauges.

What about filling the hole with sheet metal, effectively eliminating the insert and mounting your guages in that? It would become one with the face of your dash.........

There was a seperate thread in here just last week, where a lad is making his own insert. (He promised to do a tech article on it too). Here it is - page 3 of this thread -

Check out what J&B Microfinish has,, http://www.jbmicrofinish.com/catalog.html
If you have a nice dash panel (maybe a chrome one) that you don't want to cut, he has some used stock dash panels available.
