Careful sunroof owners!
Here is a not so funny story...I went to a wedding this weekend, and the centerpieces at the reception were vases with betta fish in them. My wife won one by doing the hokey pokey. Honest it wasn't me. Anyway the next day we stopped to eat on the way home. It was a nice day, so I left the sunroof open so the fish would not get too hot. I have a supercrew lariat with the flow through shifter. I took out the rubber cup holder insert and put this vase in the large cup holder. We were in the restaurant for about an hour. When I came out, I went to put the truck in gear and noticed 2 large burn marks on the gray plastic near the shifter. I thought somebidy through a lit cigarette into the open sunroof. I looked, but no cigarettes. It turns out the sun came in the roof, and the the vase acted like a magnifying glass and burned 2 lines into the plastic each about 1 1/2 inches long. If there has been paper in the truck, I hate to think what woud have happened. Anyway, I suppose any glass in the cup holder could possibly do the same thing. F.Y.I. the piece costs about $65.00. Darn expensive free fish!

Good to know. I don't plan on putting a fishbowl in my console and I pretty much suck at the hokey pokey, but glass may find its way there. I always close my sunroof as a matter of principle when i'm not in the truck, comes from living in an urban environment i guess. Also pull the shade when it's warm out to limit cabin heating and fading of the interior.
