I have a 62 econoline PU
The serial no on the door plate reads

E10SH171519

090M E104 A01

Can anyone decode this for me

i am west of tulsa about 35 miles.

heres your decode.

E10 = Econoline series
S = 144 engine
H = Lorain assembly plant
171519 = May 1961 serial number (1961 model)
090 = wheelbase
M = Corinthian White paint
E104 = 3/4 ton pickup (4350 GVW)
A = 3 speed trans
01 = 3.50:1 light duty axle (7 inch)

I have ordered a truck manual from Motor Haven but dont have it yet.
I can not figure out how you get the tali gate off (without ruining it) It seems you know more about these things than anyone else, so any answers.

probably bought in 62, mine says 60 on the title.

you have to unbolt the tailgate hinge from the truck on one side to get the gate off.
