door rattle problem
I have a '03 S'Crew and my passenger side door is driving me crazy. The bottom of the plastic "panel" is loose and it rattles every time I hit a bump. I think I had the panel off a year or so ago to fix something, but it just started to rattle on me during the last couple of weeks. I'm afraid it's a problem with one of those stupid plastic clips they use. Anyone know how to fix this?

It isn't so much as a clip but a hook since to remove the door panel you have to pull up then out. See if you can tap on the panel to see about there it is rattling, then pull the panel off and see if there is anything like a rubber sleeve or something that may have come loose or missing. You can always place soemthing else in there to help secure it tighter. I have use pieces of small rubber hose, split then down the side and then placed it over the metal where the panel attaches. Makes for a tighter fit. ALso, don't forget to check other items in the door that may be making the sound. Could be a wire harness as well that came loose.

check the two or three screws across the bottom of th panel. if one will not tightne up, you need to get a bigger diameter sheetmetal screw about 1/2 inch long. also you can ahve "squeek" when the door rubs the rubber door seal when hitting bumps. use tire shine, or super 2000 type stuff that shines the plastic, and rub it over the door seal to make it kind of shinny and slick. that helps quiet the squeeks.
