Pro-Hobbyist Inoperable Vehicle Bill in Oregon

A bill (H.B. 2019) has been introduced in the Oregon legislature that would prohibit local areas from implementing an ordinance or land use regulation that prevents automobile collectors from pursuing their hobby. Collector vehicles would only be required to be maintained and stored by the owner out of ordinary public view.

We Urge You to Contact Your State Legislators Immediately in Support of This Bill

H.B. 2019 provides safeguards for hobbyists to work on collector vehicles on private property.

H.B. 2019 establishes reasonable provisions that vehicles be located out of ordinary public view by means of inside storage, fencing, trees, shrubbery, etc.

H.B. 2019 allows collectors to conduct mechanical repairs and modifications to vehicles on private property.

H.B. 2019 demonstrates a real effort by legislators and hobbyists to enact reasonable and fair compromise legislation.

Contact your state legislators in support of this proposed legislation. This bill strives to protect vehicle enthusiasts and collectors in Oregon. If you need assistance in determining who your legislators are, please contact the Oregon Legislature's General Information line: 503/986-1000.
