4.6 rod bolts

A friend is replacing the main and rod bearings in his 1999 Mustang 4.6. The manual says rod bolts should be replaced but we cannot find a source other than buying new rods with bolts through Ford. Local performance shop says he can't get them through ARP. Local dealers don't have any experience rebuilding them, except one case when they reused them on an Expy.
Is there a source for bolts or can they be reused?

Thanks.

Most bolts used in todays engines ate torque to yield and can only be used once. They use a multi stepped torque sequence that stretches the bolt and it will not return to shape like a grade 8 bolt. You might check with www.dssracing.com or www.TeamJDM.com. They deal in Modular engines.

You might check on the TCCoA.com forums. Those T-Bird guys are always building their 4.6s. They are always doing all kinds of mods and rebuilds, and have most of the 4.6 parts web sites memorized.

That site sure has helped me a lot with my T-Bird 4.6.
