Tow Command on trailer w/o brakes

What can I do to trick my F350 Tow Command to no show a fault everytime I hit my brakes on my little bumper hitch trailer that doesn't have brakes on it? I have 05 F350 CC SB FX4 PS. Really like TowCommand on all my trailers except this trailer without brakes. Any ideas?

Something must be wired wrong, because the trailer indicator will only show a fault if a circuit is present for the trailer brake wires. What I mean is, I can hook up a 7 to 4 pin connector on my truck, and the trailer brake light wont come on. How many pins are on your trailer plug?

Ditto, Texascaddilac. Only time the display comes to life on the Tow Command is when I hook up my trailer that has brakes.

I wired a 6 way plug in the bed and on the bumper. I know no-one with a 7 way plug. I guess mostly RVer's. All horse trailers, flatbed, etc have 6 ways. Anyway, I will try using the 6 to 7 adapter to see if it still does it. The trailer lights work fine. All do as they are suppose to.

If you have the tow command system your truck should have came with the 7 way round trailer adapter as well as a 4 wire plug next to it on the back of your truck. Are you saying that you took this off and replaced it with a 6 way round plug? If so why didn't you just buy a 7 way to 6 way adapter?

Anyway my guess is if you did rewire the connector you might have got a wire crossed somewhere. Otherwise maybe there is a mixup somewhere in the trailer wiring. Does your trailer have a 6 way plug? Are you using a 6 way to 4 way adapter? We need a little more info to try to figure this out.

I left the 7 way on the bumper. But I never use a 7 way or a 4 way. So instead of fooling with the adapter everytime I use a trailer, I trailer 2 - 3 times a week and have 5 or 6 trailers that I use. All my trailers have 6 way plugs. I will try the 7 to 6 adapter tonight.

Well I used the 6 to 7 adapter and the warnings on the dash went away, but so did my lights? My lights work fine without adapter in the 6 way plug. This will be an all nighter!!!!

Thanks, I had some diagrams but these are a little more straight forward. I think looking at these, I may have my 12v and auxillary's crossed. Everything else was pretty straight forward and works fine. I am thinking of hooking the auxillary to my upfitter switch to lights around the back of my trailers for backup lights.
