97 7.3 blowing oil till warm

Since the weathers turning cold (32 deg. f.) I'm getting a lot of blue smoke from the exhaust. I warm it up for 15 min. and when I get on the road (specially when on a hill) I've got a blue cloud that's embarrassing. Takes 4 or 5 block before it clears. Only 120000 miles on the truck. Does this motor have a pcv valve? Could it be blocked? The trucks been owned by acouple of old guys before me so I figure oil changes and maintanence have been kept up. Any suggestions before I take it to the shop? Thanks

No PCV valve. Try plugging in the block heater for a couple of hours before the first crank of the day. If the problem is minimized by the heater the problem is probably bad glow plugs, or the glow plug relay.

Also I agree with glow plugs and also try changing the kind of fuel. If you can get premium or get a fuel additive. you are probably blowing the crud out if the last owner just putts around.
