Bringing one across the border... who has done it?

Hey guys, my wife and I will be in San Diego in January, and Im thinking of driving a rust free Bronco home.

I have checked on gas prices and all of that, and it is expensive I know, but it will be a great way to get a great truck and see a lot of country.

Has anyone else ever imported a vehicle ? I am thinking about bringing back a 90-96 depnding on the deal I get and stuff.

The good news is, being a CA vehicle, the smog test is the toughest so it should pass an Ontario test without issue I would assume.

Has anyone else imported a vehicle from the US? How hard was it, what was the process and how much did the import cost you?

THANKS!

Matt

ebay motors .ca has a pretty good explanation

Between the canadian gov site tht was posted and the this ebay explanation you should have no prob.

http://pages.ebay.ca/ebaymotors/import.html

here is a link to the Registrar of Imported Vehicles

http://www.riv.ca/

They are the branch of the gov you will be dealing with once you clear customs

happy hunting
