Question about a thermostat

i just recently got the jet 180 degree thermo for my 02 4.2L f150 and i have no idea where it goes ive tried lookin but no luck i must just be blind ha and also if anyone has done one before what is the easyness rating on it lol. any responses would be greatly appreciated

Remember, lowering your thermostat temperature adversely affects your engine life and service intervals.

OK on your rad you should have two hoses on it one inlet and one outlet. Follow the top rad hose till you see the thermostat housing. There should be like 2-3 bolts holding it on. When you take the thermostat housing off antifreeze will spill out. (have a bucket or something to catch it.) Then you will see the thermostat pop it out and put the new one in. You will need a new thermostat gasket too. Then just reverse the steps above to put it back together.

Drain the radiator first to get most of the coolant out. There should be a drain fitting, probably plastic, near the bottom of the radiator. Save the coolant and filter it back into the radiator thru some nylon hose or a coffee filter (slow process) in a large funnel. When you are finished wash away any spilled coolant on the engine and on the ground with large amounts of water. If you add new coolant the old coolant can be safely flushed down the toilet into a municipal sewage treatment facility.
