The only compatability issues I've heard about with the ELC's in the OBS trucks is with rubber seals, and I have no idea how accurate that information is. Didn't even know that Amsoil had a coolant. Never seen a negative post about Cat ELC that I can remember.

yeah they just came out with it a year ago or so. its like 16 a gallon. i havent priced the motorcraft gold. the cat and jd elc are about 15-20 a gallon too. i wonder what other seals can be in there. i was worried about the metal compatibility the most.

Yeah...that backed up on that stance with the 99-01 trucks. Didn't exactly say it is ok to use it, but allowed that it would not hurt it if you did. On the 94-97 they still say no, so there must be something different with the systems between years. I don't know what that difference is.

It might be a good idea to ask International about the type of antifreeze that should be used

The answer to your coolant additives is CAT EXTENDED LIFE COOLANT. This is a premixed coolant for all engines with cavitations problems. Just flush out other coolant. Takes approx 5 1/2 gals @ approx $6.00 per gal. All the info is under CATERPILLAR'S WEB SITE www.cat.com Check with any Heavy Equipment or Road Truck dealer, most carry. This coolant is good for 300,000 miles do not add water or additives.

i dont know what you mean i copied and pasted this right from his site. is there something i am missing here? i thought this was some good stuff i always hear of it being used over at tds.[img][/img]
