Tasmanian Devils
What in the world was up with Mother Nature designing this one ???
I watched a documentary on them a few nights ago, on the critter channel. I see now why they are called devils. It is a large rodent looking creature that growls and snarls constantly, fights most of the time with its own clan and attacks everything it sees ...
The males in breeding season attacks the females, puts a death grip with its sharp teeth on the nape of the females neck and literally drags her to the den. It then "mates" its captor viscously for days, until she can finally escape from the den at a dead run. The makers of the show of course , downplayed their ferocity but I think I know a mean and hateful critter when I see it..

I didn't see the documentary, but I've heard the stories about the critters. BTW, didn't Marlin Perkins wrestle one of those things on "Wild Kingdom" one time?? J/K. My favorite animal of the viscious variety is the Wolverine (not because of Logan, either). I read a book in High school, many, many years ago called Swiftwater. Don't remember the author, but there was a terrific part where the main character gets into a fight with a wolverine and the thing just kept coming after him, even after he had split its skull with his hatchet. Neat story.

You wait to you are camping in a tent... then suddenly the tent starts to get shreaded to pieces by one.
A change of pants is usually required.
They will quite happily rip of your arm/leg/body if they feel so inclined.
Lovely cute little creatures
Along with the rest of the Australian wildlife.
