351W no air pump belt size??

351W no air pump belt size??

I am going to be dropping a 351W into my 89 Bronco next weekend... I am not planning on putting the air pump back in at this time... anyone done this who can give me a new shorter belt size to go with?? and a brand so I can cross it???

the air pump is on its own pulley groove so you don't need another belt just remove it.

1989 is a single serpintine belt... 80-86 ran V belts...

Caution, this setup may put your belt very close together at the tensioner and alternator so get a quality belt. I did this in my Mustang w/351w and the belt would touch after a few hundred miles. I finally got a quality belt from NAPA and this solved the problem. I don't have the car so couldn't tell you a belt size. Best bet is to take a piece of string and route it around the pulleys then go buy a belt. Make sure they will take it back if it doesn't fit cause it may take a few trys.

Also most mustang mags have advertisers that will sell a smog pump delete. It replaces the pump with a pulley so your belt size will stay the same.
