my truck wont start please help

last thursday i ran out of diesel, well i think i ran out of diesel because it was below red but not completely positive though...well i put $10 of diesel in it and cranked on it for two hours one day wouldnt start so the next day i put $10 more in it and cranked on it for another two hours while spraying b12 carburator cleaner in the intake no start all its doing is caking white smoke out the exhaust and occasionally trying to start...any ideas guy please help im stranded without my baby

its a 96 f350 psd 220,000 miles

Check the oil level in the HPOP, make sure the fuel bowl is full, and make sure that the truck is turning over fast enough to start. I'd try jumping it off another rig. Hope it helps.

Did it die on you or not restart after shut down? The white smoke means the fuel is not igniting. Check your fuses, could be a glow plug thing.

My first thought is glow plug failure too.

Plug in the heater for a few hours and then try it...

it died on me then i plugged the block heater in and jumper cables...
i think its my cps...again

Do you have any fuses blown? If the fuel heater shorted out it will pop a fuse and kill power to the PCM.

ok friday i checked my fuses under the hood a 15 amp fuse was blown changed it out and it started up ran friday saturday and sunday this morning went to start it and wouldnt start...glanced at the fuses under the hood expecially looking at the 15 amp fuses all good???

Possibly the fuel heater shorting out.....but I was thinking that it's on a 20amp fuse.
