Speakers, Radio and Floor Kick Panel
Gentlemen,
Had to fabricate the kick panels out of wood to hold my 6-1/2" speakers....ran into one problem though, there is some grooves on the metal that causes me to dremel the wood. I used 1/4" plywood and going to cover it with black carpet....should look pretty clean and neat....tonight I installed the radio on the dash (removalable face place for security) using a nibbler...man that tool cuts fast and clean!!!!! Also, installed the heater piece for fresh air to come in...still have to cut the firewall to mount the heater and run the lines....I should have some pics up within a couple of days for the completed job...who said that these trucks were easy to make comfortable to today's vehicles....

James, I'm at about the same place on my '52. The posterboard kick panels won't hold a decent (heavy magnet) speaker. I bought some 1/8"-thick aluminum plate this weekend to put behind the posterboard. I'll have to check to make sure there aren't any protrusions like you found, because routing aluminum isn't an option!

If I were you, I'd mount some Plastic Sheeting on the inside of your door to cover the Speakers then.
Just incase your Anti-Rattle Kits don't Block Out the Water that could possibly Leak through & cause an Electrical/Speaker problems.
And make sure the Drain Holes in the Bottom of your Doors are Clear of Debris as well so you do not acquire a Water Build Up & Rust out the Bottom of your doors.
