Best cleaners for Carpet and leather?

2 questions put together here....
1st... what type of cleaner, automotive or not, is the best for cleaning carpet in vehicles? ive tried all the can sprays and none of them really clean the carpet too well.... all it seems to do is make the dirt smell better...lol. i would rather not go to the rental center to pay a lot of $ for a carpet cleaner either.

2nd... for the leather, or im guessing its leather, on the door panel with the holes on it, what would be best for cleaning that. ive tried armor all cleaner wipes and i cant get the grey color back...

thanks for the help in advance

You can get one of those Bissell Little Green Portable cleaners for like $90 at Target, Wal-Mart or the like. They work great for carpet and upholstry. You won't believe all the stuff it pulls out.

If thats out of your price range, get the spray bottle of Resolve and a scrub brush. Its a longer process than those spray on cleaners, but works pretty good.

Sorry but I can't help you with the leather/vinyl.

I have found the best method for cleaning mats and carpet is this:
1. Small bottle of carpet cleaner/shampoo.
2. 2 Hand sized scrub brushes with stiff bristles
3. 2 Plastic buckets
4. Several white cotton drying towels
5. Elbow grease

Mix a small amount of the carpet cleaner (you do not want the solution to sudsy) with very hot water from the sink in your bucket. Dip the brush in the solution and work the carpet over one area at a time. For example, driver's side, passenger's side, etc. Before an area dries completely, go back over it with the second clean brush and a bucket of clean cold water. If your carpet is very dirty you may want to change out the hot soap and clean rinse water half way through.

Next take one of the white cotton towels and wipe the carpet down. This soaks up the excess water and helps the carpet dry quicker. Leave the doors or at least the windows open overnight until the carpets are completely dry.

Note: For stains- spray a stain remover on the spot and let it soak about ten minutes before you do the carpet cleaning method above.

Your carpets will look good as new.
