?'s about the superduty 17'' dually wheels

I have a 2001 cc dually(4x4) with 16''x6 inch dually wheels and wanted to find some dually wheels that would accept say ah 295 or 325 tire.I don't think my 16 x 6 dually wheels will work and i can't find any that will.I don't won't the big 20's.What is the width of the new ford 17inch dually wheels and what is the largest tire it will accept?Any suggestions on wanting to run billett spacers and taller/wider tires would help. Thanks

the 2005/2006 dually wheels are 17x6.5" but will not bolt on to earlier trucks. The bolt pattern is larger. 8 on 200m vs. 8 on 170mm.

Weld Evo makes a 16x6.5 rim. And Super Swamper makes a 35x10.5 tire. The SSR-41R. Problem is I've never seen anyone do this, so I don't know If you'd still need spacer's to prevent rear tire rub. I suspect you would. I have seen people shoe horn larger(wider) tires on the stock 16x6 rims, but it looked a bit dangerous. You can check out some of the trucks over in Superduty Headquarters website to see what I mean.

Thanks for the feedback so far.I don't knowbut, just assume that inorder for me to mount larger tires;i will need at least 7-7 1/2'' width wheels or i may find problems.I really don't know though.I do know that to mount even 265-7516x6's, I had to put 5 grade 8 washers inthere for spacing.I'm going to buy billett spacers as soon as i get the go ahead from the"been there done that"guys that know what worked for them. Thanks for the good feedback thus far.

We are pretty much in the same boat. I'd like to have larger diameter tire's to give a me little more ground clearance off-road. Unfortunately, no one makes a 16" dually rim that is wider than 6.5", and the 19.5" rims don't offer a tire selection that has an aggressive enough off-road tread. The narrowest off-road tire I've been able to find in 35" is the SSR and it recommends a rim width of no less than 7". I need this truck to still be able to carry and tow what it was designed for, so I'm not really willing to risk it with a bad tire/wheel combo. I've talked to a couple of people that have shoe horned larger tires onto their 16x6's, but neither of them tow or haul much. I've also heard varying opinions on spacers. Those that tow toy hauler trailers or fifth wheels refuse to use them. There is always the option of talking to a custom wheel maker like Stockton Wheels or Taylor Made wheels, and seeing what they have to say.

Jaybird- Before I forget. There is one tire out there, that if you can get your hands on it, is perfect. It's the Michelin XZL 9.00. This is a 36.1"x9.8" tire with an aggressive mud type lug. Unfortunately, this tire is hard to find, Holy Grail, hard to find.

Are you looking for taller tires or wider ones? If you want a taller tire, Cooper makes their Discoverer S/T in a 255/85R16 with a 3000# (single) weight rating. It's a 33" tall tire that mounts nicely on the stock dual rims from what I've seen.
