Glass Cleaner

I need a good glass cleaner or galss polish that would remove Rain X residue and won't streak or haze.I've tried glass and surface cleaners to no avail. Can't seem to remove a haze from the windshield.

IMHO, there is nothing better than Invisible Glass. Sells at most auto parts stores. Not sure about removing the rain-x residue.

You might try goof-off or a professional wax and grease remover available at automotive paint suppliers.

On a sidenote, I use newspaper to wipe off the glass cleaner. It's usually already lying around and doesn't streak or leave fibers on the glass. You usually have to wipe off the ink that is now on your hand . No big deal though.

Invisible Glass (cheapest to buy would be WalMart) and Newspaper will do the job.

Ditto the Invisible Glass spray cleaner, best stuff I've ever found.

If you think you have a difficult slime or a super dirty situation, and want to do an extremely good cleaning before a 'finish cleaning' with Invisible Glass, you can use about a tablespoon of clear vinegar to a gallon of water, and the newspaper.

It helps to wad up the newspaper before wiping with it.

I used a product called Glass scrub. Found it at O'Rielly Auto Parts. Cleaned the old Rain-X off plus filled in some small scratches. For every day cleaning I use Invisible Glass and a micromesh cloth made for glass. I'll use newspaper when the cloth is dirty.

A note about small scratches... they can also be filled in with regular toothpaste-I'm talking about the white (color) kind of colgate or the crest original paste. I have used this trick a few times to fill in minor scratches on watch faces and such. take a small amount and rub over the scratch in a circular motion with your finger (or a cloth) and then finish wiping in one direction against the "grain" of the scratch with a cloth. I learned this trick from my mom, who is a dentist. Just another quick garage (or bathroom) fix.
~Matt

P.S. I have only done this with regualr paste (both colgate and crest) I think the results would be the same with most any solid colored toothpaste though.

My second post here. Can't believe this thread is still around. It was stated by others and I just want to second it that before using Invisible Glass to make the windshild appear almost invisible, something else should be used to get the really ugly stuff off such as tree sap or whatnot. Invisible Glass doesn't work that great on the crusted stuff but is the best for the final cleaning.
