Thumbs up Could not find a forum for Mercedes

First of all, I am glad that besides my motorcycles, all I own is Fords - a mustang and a F100. Because this site is awesome. I can't tell you how much I learned here and was able to fix a lot of stuff in my truck. It is infact our daily driver - moreso, now that winter is coming.

Anyway, a friend of mine happened to buy a 1976 Mercedes 450SL. She could not get it started. I took a look at it and it seemed a completely different animal. I tried to find for forums for Mercedes and see if anyone can give any ideas, but I could not find one half as good as this. I don't know if you guys know of any that will help me.

I am buying a manual for that car shortly.

Cool. I will check that out. Well, I am trying to eliminate one at a time. I checked there is spark, which eliminates electrical. I checked plugs which eliminates flooding. So, I pretty much think it is a fuel problem. I checked the fuel delivery line to the "fuel distributor" and it has gas - which eliminates a pump problem. I did not find any fuel in the return line. So, I need help to understand what is under the fuel distributor like thingi. I knew it operates under some kind of pressure control, but wanted to understand first before I start messing with someone else's car !!
I did find another site called www.oursl.com It did not seem like that site has that many users.
