First off, welcome aboard!

Secondly, do you plan to use this as a daily driver or a race toy? What state do you live in and what are the emission requirements? If you go to the 460, you will need the tranny to go with it. Also, this will take the electronics. Your best bet is to have a complete donor truck handy...

it is just a toy. i have a toploader and parts from a few donors. it looks like the steering shaft from the firewall down to the steering box might be in the way. i put a 302 in a 97 ranger but there was a wealth of information to look at.

I've seen it done on a 2wd, but it wouldn't be feasible on a 4wd due to the wicked front suspension, and no room for anything.

Welcome to FTE!

Matts72, can you tell me anything about it? there doesn't seem to be many people who have done this swap. i have a 99 flareside i got out of the salvage yard. it has front end damage so i wanted to get the motor in before the body was all done. thank you for anything you can tell me!!
