97 psd problem

i got the truck for $3500.00 and it has a problem on cold mornings when i start it it smokes white. but it goes away after it warms up.

when i drive it hot or cold it runs fine until about 1500rpms then it chugs a little until about 2500rmps then it trys to break your neck

any sugestions? thanks!

white smoke on cold starts obvious glow plug system problem i.e. glow plugs, burnt wiring or glow plug relay.

2nd problem possible icp sensor. try unplugging it and driving truck if improvement is made you need a new sensor 60 bucks ebay.

3rd problem if that truck is decent 3500 sounds like you got a hell of a deal or steal should i say welcome and let us know if we can help more.

is it hard to put glow plugs in

Depends on your wrenching ability for the glow plugs. I'd check the relay first, it's much easier and cheaper. Do a search on the site and you'll find a TON of posts on the subject. Good luck!
