I might move to the Norfolk area. Can anyone recommend neighborhoods/areas to look at / avoid? I'm interested in renting a small house.

Theres a guy at work that lives down in OceanView and wouldn't want to live anywhere else. From what I have heard and seen, it has really cleaned up over the last few years. Can't really reccomend a place to live (well, maybe Tomcats neighborhood. Maybe he'll post). Unless you like traffic, avoid the downtown area. Skinny streets, odd cobble stone roads, 1 way traffic, and round-a-bouts Plus the morning and afternoon commuter traffic. . .

If you do come down we're going to have one heck of a house warming party

 

Contact an agent. There are so many good places that you can be picky and a agent can show you what you are looking for. Plus Hampton Roads is such a small place that you can live in the surrounding cities and just be a few minutes from anywhere in norfolk.

 

ocean view still sucks, downtown sucks, also ghent is the gay section so the term "mudding" has another meaning; other than that... i would also say get with an agent or look on http://www.hrmls.com
