I hate my Pendaliner Bed Liner

I have a 2002 Supercab Lariat, Short Bed. The dealer installed a Pendaliner. Do any of you have the pendaliner and HATE it as much as I do?

As you know, there are tie down hooks in the 4 lower corners of the bed.

Well, the front of this bedliner has 6 inch holes cut out to provide access to the tie down loops/hooks. This is ridiculous!! Dirt, mud, rocks, mulch, and water gets in the holes and between the bed and liner and creates a soupy mess. This mess scratches the bed and stays moist which leads to rust. The only way to completely clean it out is to remove the bedliner, which completely defeats the purpose of having a bedliner!!!

What's really crazy is the rear hooks bolt thru the bedliner. If the front did this, the bedliner would be great.

There are these cheap inserts that plug the 6 inch holes, but they break, tear, blow out, etc. And with them installed, you can't use the front hooks.

Ok, I got it off my chest. Also, I'm shopping for a new bedliner. I'll probably just get the Ford liner. Anybody know where I can get one at a reasonable price?

Also, I have a slightly used Pendaliner for sale, very reasonable...

I don't remember what brand my drop in liner is (all-star?) but it doesn't not have this problem. The large holes in the front have to be there or you would never be able to line up the holes for the hooks. My liner has the fill in plates to cover up the hole and you can still use the front hooks because the cover plate goes behind the hooks. Maybe stop by a truck accessory shop and see if they have some better cover plates.

Once you try to haul something in it, you'll hate it more. SLIPPERY.

The drop-in liners have to have the shape they do so you can get them into the truck, hence the front holes. Ford liner is a Duraliner, same thing.

Dualcomp liner sides fit tight to the sheetmetal, your tie downs bolt over the sidewalls - same access to them as with no liner.

The floor is a rubber mat , anyone that has used one knows that things don't slide on a rubber mat.

Check it out before you decide, but you sound like a guy that could benefit from one.

Check out my gallery. I had a LineX spray in liner put in my truck. It's not as thick of a coating as Rhino, but it is much more durable. Heck, the military uses the stuff to coat the inside walls of strategic locations because it makes the building more bomb resistant.

Look at a Leonard bedliner. That's what's in mine and the factory tiedown acts as the plug for the hole.
