I changed my oil and put in Motomaster 10W30, 100% synthetic oil, sorry boys but Canadian Tire only sells one brand of Synthetic filter..Fram, but the good news is after a drive to Stratford, then Kitchener, then Toronto, to see the Jay's and Seattle Mariners, and back home the Blue Beast.'92 xlt 4l ext, ran like a dream, a little hotter than I've noticed before but after 280,000 Kms I guess that is ok, gas milage seems a little better? 1000 klicks in total the last two days, a tad under 3/4's of a tank. No leakage anywhere, pressure a little lower ( idiot gage says so ), all seems well in starsville, thanks for the advice .....T

Just something to think about, I was using Fram oil filters on my Suburban until two or three oil changes ago when the parts store was out of them, so I bought an AC Delco filter. My oil pressure runs about 5lbs higher at highway speeds with the Delco filter than with the Fram. Since then I have read a lot of bad stuff about the Fram filters on a couple website, can't remember the sites though. One of the site tested a bunch of oil filters, but I can't remember the one they said was best, just that the Fram filters were not very good. I have always used the Purolator brand on my Aero, must be ok, cause it's still running good and it's getting a little long in the tooth!

I am finding for myself, that OEM = High Performance, so no point in buying "high performance" parts, just get OEM.

You can buy Motorcraft oil filters on autozone.com for almost the same price as the cheapest, and it's delivered to your front door free of charge, if you spent more than $50.

Fram filters

I go often to the Ultimate Subaru site, and they really put Fram filters down. Wix is another filter that's supposed to be good.
