3.08 to 3.73 rear end

i have 01 with a 4.6l that have invest some time and money. i am just have a problem getting power of the line. i have found out that i have the 3.08 gear. i read that the rear end gear is the best solution to this problem. my question is going to 3.73 the right call or sould i go to 4.10?

i already have a chip and plan to reprogram for the new gear so that will not be a problem with me. i have got prices from 600.00 to 800.00 to get the job done with a warranty. is that good price? i would like to do it myself. but i don't want to mess anything up. i seems that they have to be just right or they will go all to h#!! on you. thanks for any information you guys provide.

Hey Furrby,

Did you get your gears swapped? Happy with the results? I have 2003 4.6 Supercrew with 3.55 gears. Like to have some more towing power and better mileage around town. Thinking of 3.73 or even 4.10. Like to hear from you.
