Oil Pump

CAREFULLY raise the engine AFTER you have put some pressure on the oil pan with a block of wood and a floor jack.

Remove engine mount bolts and place 2"x4" pieces between the mounts to support the engine.

Drain the oil pan, remove the bolts, pull pan down.

Reach in remove the two oil pump bolts and two pick up tube bolts and slip pump out.

Remove the pan or clean the rail surface and install the gasket.

Assemble in reverse order.

You may have to raise the engine a good deal to get enough clearance,I did on my truck to change the rear main and oil pump.I would recomend using an engine hoist to raise the engine if possible.

Oil Pump

Good point Fairmontman...............I wasn't sure if he had access to a floor crane though. He's right, you may have to raise it more than you expected.
