F100 alignment near Metro-Atlanta?......

Guys --- need alignment BAD. $650.00 set of Michelins put on yesterday at NTW in Kennesaw....the boy who tried to set the toe is younger than me and states he can't line it up. The Ford dealer in Rome has another kid who has to ASK ther service manager does their system have specs for the 74 F100!!....

Ad nauseum adfinitum....

Any guys in metro had luck with an alignment shop that KNOWS what an F100 is and KNOWS how to align the toe / steering? (I know one tie rod will have to be dropped before toe is set, because the drag link, adjustment sleeve and both tie rods were just replaced, and both tires are out of spec....).

Thanks fella's...

You should go over to Butler tire, they're the only ones that have the machinery to set it right. From what I understand, beyond the steering linkage, the frame needs to be mechanically bent to give true, proper alignment. There was a guy who used to do mine very reasonably, but he's out of business now. He put a line so good on it that I could go for almost a mile down I-75 (not in rush hour) without touching the wheel. Firestone on Canton road in Marietta will do a pretty decent job, but they at least will tell you that they can't finish it right. -TK

Gran Torismo East in Chamblee, Does great work and has an oncar tire balancing machine. These guys know what is going on. While you are there take a short walk down the alley and go look at the lamborghini's, if you go look at the lambo's and lotus's tell them jeremy sent you

BigBad1Ton,

Thanks - have you had experience with these folks and F-100's? I don't want to just have them do a "set the toe and let it go", like I used to do at Firestone.... Harrison is driving sort of "spooky" after installing the set of Michelins and replacing all the steering linkage...

Thanks...

one of the guys up there is a dedicated ford man, and if you are lucky he will have the cobra replica up there. also look behind there shop and see if the Panoz school car is still there. I used to work for the lambo dealer and these guys did all the tires and alignments for the cars we worked on. They will treat you right and they know what they are doing. Just an example I have seen races cars get towed down from carolinea's and tennesse just to have the alignment done
