Hey Axracer! What size wire?

Axracer,

Lookin at your cab interior mods in your gallery.

Those panels/pieces you welded in to seal your ashtray and glove box.

I assume you MIG welded them?

What size wire did you use?

(And don't forget you owe us a picture!)

Thanks,

I used the smaller size of the Esab easy grind wire (.025?) and welded it by doing a bunch of 1/2" welds skipping around and waiting for the panels to cool between welds. There was still a small amount of heat shrinkage that I had to fill since I had left in the flange around the glove box and ashtray and could not hammer stretch it back out, but that wasn't a big deal since it only required a small amount of putty and the flat part will be covered by a brushed SS panel.
I also used 18 ga sheet to form the filler pieces.

Ax,

Where'd you get that Esab .025 wire?

Can't believe the trouble I'm having finding .024/.025 wire (FLUX CORE).....

Thanks,
