Hi All
This one is in the bone yard, VIN F8E1HM68672. Is this a 1951 F-8?.
The cab and doors are in fantastic shape! I have a '48 F-5 and the cab and doors Could be what I need to "supercab" the '48.
So, if this is a '51, the cab and doors are the same?

The cabs are different on the '48-50 than the '51-52. They can be swapped but the dashes are completely different and the back windows on the '51-52 is a lot wider. The doors on all years are the same although some of the '51-52s had upholstered panels and arm rests.

 

So.... is this a '51?

 

I personally can't tell by the number, there are a lot on the board that can. From the number you posted ,F8E1HM68672, I would guess it is a '51 by the fourth character being a "1".

Did the dash look like your '48? If not, and it had two round gauges instead of the one single one like the '48 and a noticably larger back window then it's a '51-52. The '48-51 have the same overall general outer shape.
